Tasting notes
Always one of the more alluring wines in the Outpost range, the 2015 Petite Sirah The Other delivers tons of intensity and sheer richness. Inky dark fruit, juniper berry, savory herbs, menthol and licorice fill out the wine's ample frame. There is plenty of tannic heft and concentration. Then again, we are talking about Howell Mountain Petite.

The inky colored 2015 Petite Sirah The Other is a pedal to the metal, monster of a wine that dishes up thrilling amounts of blackcurrant and blackberry fruit to go with loads of crushed rock, sappy herbs, white pepper and espresso roast. It has remarkable elegance and purity on the palate, but fruit and opulence and the undeniable buzzwords.
Very deep purple-black colored, the 2015 Petite Sirah The Other has full-on crushed blackberry pie and stewed plums notes with hints of damp soil, tar, licorice and sautéed herbs plus a waft of tapenade. Full-bodied, firm, chewy and with a racy backbone, it delivers the complete Petite Sirah experience, and then some. 120 cases produced.
