(bottled in May of 2012): Good bright, deep red. Medicinal red cherry, raspberry, spices and mint on the vibrant nose. Sweet and suave but at the same time penetrating in the style of the better 2010s, with harmonious acidity framing and energizing the flavors of red fruits, minerals and medicinal herbs. Sexy earth tones contribute complexity, and the long, youthfully tight finish shows an exhilarating spice character. I would not be surprised if this wine merited a higher rating by 2022 or so.

Spiced (like Drambuie?), really remarkable open-knit fruit and medicinal notes. Fruit is a little dry and tart, but it works in the mix. Traditional, tight. (RH)

Good bright, deep red. Perfumed aromas and flavors of plum, flowers, tobacco, mint and sage, accented by spicy oak. Juicy and sharply delineated, with a sappy quality that carries through on the slowly building, very elegant finish. Highly aromatic, vibrant Clos Vougeot: I love this style.
