Tasting notes
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Aux Beaux Bruns 1er Cru includes 30% whole bunch. It has a very earthy bouquet, nicely defined but broody at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied and very saline on the entry, offering a fine bead of acidity and a clean, precise finish. Fine, but not the very best Mortet has made this year, since he set the bar so high.

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Aux Beaux Bruns has turned out very well this year, and Mortet appears to have picked the perfect date to harvest this early-ripening site. Soaring from the glass with scents of ripe cherries, raspberries, peonies and candied citrus peel, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, with velvety tannins, lively acids and a mineral finish.
