Bright, deep red. Pungent, vibrant nose combines dark raspberry, smoked meat, sandalwood, musky herbs, minerals and lower-pitched earth tones. Dense, sappy and expansive, boasting outstanding lift and energy to its sharply delineated flavors of dark cherry, berry skin, flowers and white pepper. There's no easy sweetness to this great Clos de Beze, which finishes with noble tannins and compelling subtle persistence.
Real reverberation. Dense with a dry edge but with lots of life and energy. Long and chock full of energy. (JR)
Good bright full red. Sensational nose features all the Burgundy food groups: raspberry, minerals, flowers, game, spices. Pure silk on the palate, with a wonderfully fine-grained texture given lift and razor-sharp definition by sappy acidity and a piquant element of white pepper. Offers a rare combination of density and delineation and finishes with outstanding building length and great finesse.
