Tasting notes
Smoky, intense nose suggestive of a dry wine followed by real floral intensity – even a hint of lilies. Quite exceptionally persistent – one of those elephant-on-a-tightrope wines. One cannot believe it remains airborne against all odds. (JR)

(14.4% alcohol and 90 g/l r.s.; here fully half the fruit was nobly rotten) Exotic aromas of ripe pineapple and honey. Superripe and intensely spicy, with firm-edged acids giving the wine a slightly more aggressive character today than the Heimbourg. Comparatively backward gewurztraminer, less expressive today than the Heimbourg. Finishes with cinnamon and nutmeg notes and some obvious tannins.
