Deep garnet in color, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard jumps out of the glass with red and black cherry preserves, warm cassis and blackberry tart with hints of lilacs, rose hip tea and lamb dripping with rosemary and baking spices. Full-bodied, concentrated and wonderfully layered, it has a rock-solid frame of grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing long and mineral laced.

(15.5% alcohol): Bright medium red with ruby tones. Deep, vibrant aromas of black cherry, black raspberry and licorice. Sweet, spicy and concentrated, showing a compelling creamy quality to its youthful black fruit and spice flavors. But this rather brooding, youthfully medicinal wine is in an awkward stage today, with its firm spine of ripe tannins currently dominating. Hold this for another five years.

(15.1% alcohol) Deep red-ruby. Blacker, more brooding nose than the Ark: cassis, licorice and a whiff of caramel. Then sweet, lush and full in the mouth, with superb minerality contributing to this very deep wine's almost 3-D texture. Plusher and more effusive than the Ark, finishing with outstanding palate-coating breadth and length. Reminds me of a top Pomerol. Owner Jayson Woodbridge calls this bottling "a sexy, rumbling Ferrari," while he describes the Ark, with its structure, power and elegance, as a Rolls-Royce. (The 2007s had been sulfured shortly before my visit and were unavailable for tasting.)
