Score 93/100 · Drink 2019-2031, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Feb 2019
Good medium red. Complex, still-fresh scents of red berries, plum, musky tobacco and spices, plus sexy soil tones. A captivating silky midweight with strong blackberry, violet and licorice flavors nicely framed by well-integrated acidity. Finishes with substantial broad, dusty, horizontal tannins and a lingering note of coffee. Perhaps a bit less generous and silky than the '93 owing to its slightly stronger impression of acidity but this wine should still evolve further. (14% alcohol; 3.45 pH; 20 h/h)
