Round, notably fruity nose but with a certain tartness on the palate. Not quite balanced despite the smartness of the address. (JR)

The Vosne-Romanee-Cros Parantoux is similar in style to the Vosne-Romanee-Les Brulees, but more classically rendered. Its bouquet is filled with sweet, jammy red and black fruits buttressed by aromas of toasty new oak. In the mouth, this opulent, full-bodied wine reveals soft tannins, as well as superb richness and precision to its personality. It will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and should keep for 10-12. The 1990s are the finest wines the Domaine Meo-Camuzet has yet produced. I am also delighted to say that in addition to practicing a severe crop thinning in 1990, the domaine bottled their wines naturally with no filtration. Importer: Martine's Wines, San Rafael, CA.

Two bottles opened. A reserved, tight and somewhat reserved nose reveals a vegetal nose that has a somewhat stewed quality to it followed by rich but blurry flavors and a nicely complex, persistent finish. However, this is not a particularly good showing. No prior recent notes. Allen Meadows, Burghound Jan01,2004
