1985 Castello dei Rampolla Sammarco

The 1985 Sammarco is powerful, rich and concentrated, with the explosive energy it has always had. Still dark and intense to the core, the 1985 will drink well for another decade, perhaps longer. It remains one of the benchmark vintages for Sammarco. The 1985 is also a sentimental favorite, as it is the first vintage I tasted young. (AG)
