Tasting notes
62.1% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11.5% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1.8% Tannat, 8.6% Malbec, 2.4% Pinot Noir, 8.6% Syrah, 1% rare varieties. TA 3.30 g/l (sulphuric) , pH 3.64. Coffee, mocha, and a beautiful herbal note that combines with mushy, overripe red fruit to really set this vintage apart. It’s wonderfully complete: surprisingly broad on the palate, long and insistent on the finish, and fantastically complex on the nose. Offers the best bits of mature bordeaux (leather, black fruits) and burgundy (earthy, mushroom, red fruit). A real stand out! (RH)

70% Cabernet. Paler than some of the older vintages with definite maturity at the rim. Spice, licorice and some Rhône character on the nose. Gamey. Round, supple fruit. Much smoother texture than most. The tannins are silkier, too. Very attractive current drink. (JR)
