Tasting notes
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard is a rich, exotic beauty. Layered and intensely aromatic, the 2021 is wonderfully dynamic. Crushed rocks, pencil shavings, menthol, espresso, blood orange and pine soar from the glass. Brisk mountain acids and veins of supporting tannin lend tons of complexity.

This vineyard continues to produce incredible wines, of which the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard is certainly one. Awesome red and black fruits, iron, spice, and some bloody, almost meaty notes all give way to a full-bodied, concentrated, powerful yet flawlessly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon. I love it even today, but it has the structure and overall balance to shine for 20-25 years. It's a killer bottle of wine.
Pulido-Walker's top wine is often this stunning selection from Pritchard Hill crafted by Thomas Rivers Brown. The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard almost perfectly marries ripe cherries, cedar shavings and dried spices into a magnificently complex whole. It's medium to full-bodied, bright and fresh, zesty, without being overly tart, finishing long, silky and mouthwatering.
