Tasting notes
Sourced exclusively from 100% bought grapes originating in Fixin, Gevrey and Nuits-Saint-Georges, the 2024 Bourgogne Rouge is a superb introduction to Fourrier’s signature style. The nose is floral and elegant, opening with bright notes of raspberry, ripe cherries, cherry skin and a hint of candied citrus peel. The palate is immediately crunchy and fresh, delivering a mouth-watering balance of pure red fruit (raspberry, cherry and a touch of plum), wrapped in fine, nicely grained tannins. There is a subtle bitterness at mid-palate, lifting the wine and adding definition, along with a delicate touch of saltiness that reinforces its Côte de Nuits origins. Medium-bodied, supple and effortlessly balanced, the wine remains open, expressive and fleshy while retaining Fourrier’s hallmark precision and charm. A truly great introduction to the domaine, offering accessibility without sacrificing depth or personality.
