The 2014 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots has a fragrant bouquet with redcurrant and cranberry aromas, superb mineralité with dried rose petals emerging with time. This is not dissimilar to the Les Suchots but I detected more focus and delineation here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine definition, slightly chalky tannin with a masculine, very poised finish. As I mentioned in my barrel sample note, it exudes Reignots in all its glass. Tasted November 2016.
Bright ruby-red. Captivating perfume of black raspberry, dark chocolate, smoked meat and soil. Sappy, savory and palate-saturating, conveying a powerful impression of terroir . This wine began with more saline soil tones than primary fruit but intense dark berry flavors emerged with air without any loss of energy. This very tight-grained wine finishes with noble tannins and outstanding length. A great vin de terroir with a classic 2014 balance.
Bright ruby-red. Slightly reduced, high-toned aromas of black raspberry and smoked meat (this cuvée used to be even more reduced owing to the lack of nitrogen in the soil but is now more balanced, noted Liger-Belair). Boasts lovely depth of fruit in conjunction with a very fine-grained, almost ethereal quality. Suave and utterly edge-free, with perfectly integrated acidity keeping it fresh. Finishes classically dry and very long, with serious, late-arriving tannins to support a graceful evolution in bottle. Outstanding potential.
About the producer

Since its rebirth in 2000, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair has quickly become one of the most highly sought-after producers in Vosne-Romanée. The most prized wine from the estate is their monopole Grand Cru La Romanée.
