Tasting notes
Lastly, the single vineyard 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Leopoldina Vineyard comes from Oakville. Its saturated purple/black color is followed by a beautiful, full-bodied, concentrated 2017 that has a core of blue fruits as well as notes of liquid violets, graphite, dark chocolate, and scorched earth. It's balanced, firm, and focused, with loads of potential.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Leopoldina Vineyard is powerful and heady, with all of the intensity that is typical of this site on the eastern hills of Oakville. Dark, savory and powerful, the 2017 has so much to offer. The balance of intense dark fruit and muscular tannins makes for an absolutely compelling Cabernet.
Deep purple black colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Leopoldina Vineyard needs coaxing to reveal a warm cassis, blackberry pie and baked blueberries core with touches of forest floor, cedar chest, unsmoked cigars and bay leaves scents. Full-bodied, firm and chewy in the mouth, it has a good core of rugged black fruit and earthy layers, finishing on a stewed tea note.
