Tasting notes
Of all Alvina Pernot’s wines, Champs Gains sits at the highest altitude, above Folatières. The wine is one of the duo’s négoce bottlings, one that has since been discontinued – so the 2024 is the second and last vintage. Of the six barrels produced, one was new oak. The nose is pronounced, packed with freshly squeezed lime, Granny Smith and apple blossom alongside more flinty, mineral tones and a spicy hint of oak. The palate is tight and taut – you can really feel the energy here, pent up at this youthful stage. There’s a lovely green-fruited intensity and a creamy edge to the long finish, but this will benefit from some time in bottle.
About the producer

Alvina Pernot is one of the most exciting producers of white Burgundy today. Based in Puligny-Montrachet with some incredible vineyards, this is a name to watch – creating taut and mineral styles of white Burgundy.
