The 2019 Meursault Meix Chavaux has a very crisp, almost Puligny-like bouquet, mineral-driven, a little austere compared to the Les Vireuils. The palate is well balanced with orange pith and touches of yellow plum, lightly spiced with a satisfying edginess towards the persistent finish. Long and lasting on the aftertaste with a precision that for me, puts it on a level above the Les Vireuils. Excellent.

The 2019 Meursault Meix Chavaux is excellent, mingling inviting aromas of citrus oil, white flowers, crisp green apple and freshly baked bread in an inviting bouquet, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered palate that's concentrated and incisive. Meix Chvaux and Vireuils are typically the leanest of Roulot's lieux-dits, but both have an additional dimension of texture and flesh this year.
Picked 11 September. Bottom of the hill, more clay. Tank sample. The most acid wine of the domaine. Savoury nose with racy fruit and refinement. Very salivatory, with lots of energy and length. (JR)
