Tasting notes
The 2021 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru was fermented entirely in barrel from which my sample is taken. It has a taut and linear bouquet of lemon curd and light green apple notes with underlying granitic scents. The palate is well-balanced with a pure entry, lemon zest and orange rind intermixed with light nettle and gooseberry notes towards the strict finish. Give this well-crafted Vaudésir a couple of years in bottle.

A 0.5-ha (1.2-acre) parcel situated between the Preuses and Valmur grands crus. Barrel-fermented, four barrels in total. Tank sample . Elegant and refined. Pale lemon, elegant nose of lemon and green-apple skin. Marine notes round out the sustained, fine finish. (MH)
