Tasting notes
The 2009 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots is a wine of contrasts. Although the fruit is at times quite overt, there is a delicate side to the Suchots that is equally compelling. Dark red raspberries, crushed roses, mint, licorice and tobacco are some of the notes that are woven into the gracious, totally exquisite finish. Readers are going to have a hard time keeping their hands off this gem.

These are some of the most personal, intimate wines being made in Burgundy. There really is nothing else that even closely resembles the house style. The 2009 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots is a dark, sensual wine graced with exquisite depth. Layers of dark fruit, violets, spices and minerals emerge from this radiant, expressive Burgundy. The roundness and sheer density make the Suchots delicious now, but this is likely to get better with time.
