Full bottle 1,333 g. Lightly smoky nose with even a hint of nuttiness. No shortage of acidity! No excess of flavour. But there is still fruit and line here. Clean and pure. It may well go pretty well with tonight's sushi birthday celebration with the family. And it's in pretty remarkable shape for a 13-year-old example of a 'lesser' grape variety in a cool vintage. Unlike the 2009 tasted alongside, this is an Aligoté you could take for a Chardonnay. A hint of Coche's trademark struck match. Extremely crisp, and delineated. Long, satisfying and youthful. Well balanced. A really very impressive example of this modest grape. (JR)
