Good deep red. Sappy, spicy red fruits and smoked meat on the nose. Nicely juicy and precise, showing more spine than thickness. This is quite backward and imploded for the vintage and will need time to evolve. Really spreads out on the back half, dusting the palate with minerality. Structured for a leisurely development in bottle.

(racked a few days prior to my visit, with the Amoureuses) Good dark red-ruby. Ripe but initially mute nose opened nicely with air to show pure dark fruits. Then wonderfully sweet and deep in the mouth, with a texture of liquid velvet and very ripe black fruit flavors. Perhaps best today on the long, slow-mounting finish, which shows substantial ripe tannins and a restrained sweetness.
Racked 2 weeks ago. Bright crimson. Very exciting on the nose. A dynamic tonic with a tasteable swish of taffeta curtains! Racy stuff. Tight fruit tannins. Very fine bones but with just enough flesh. Lots of tannin tucked in. (JR)

Based in Chambolle-Musigny, the domaine was established by Georges Roumier in 1924. The domaine started to bottle their own wines in 1945.
