Tasting notes
The 2010 Barolo Via Nuova is the name of a cru that no longer exists. “Via Nuova” is now a registered fantasy name that represents a blend of fruit from six vineyard parcels. It shows great balance because it represents the entire Barolo territory and reflects the old Barolo blending tradition. You get the floral perfumes from Barolo, the bright fruit characteristics of Monforte d’Alba and bold structure of Serralunga d’Alba.

Lovely concentrated ruby and with a sediment on the bottom of the glass. Unfiltered? Very sweet, lifted and intense, almost jammy and very generously oaked. Vanilla-spiked cherry with lively acidity. Very modernist, but it clearly works. Glossy.
