Score 92/100 · Drink 2014-2024, Robert Parker, Aug 2014
A sleeper of the vintage, the 2003 Kirwan exhibits a dense plum/ruby color, sweet creme de cassis notes intermixed with spicy fruitcake and cedarwood, medium to full body, good freshness, sweet tannin and a long finish. This beauty has hit its plateau of maturity, but it is in no danger of falling apart. Drink it over the next decade.

Neutral nose. Dense and crimson but with a bit of energy and a bit of polish. Overall a nice drink! (Average group score: 15.3) (JR)

Not much nose and big, sweet, curranty palate. Very dry finish Not at all sophisticated wine. Chewy and chunky – more like a chocolate bar than a glass of wine. Very dry tannins on the finish. (JR)
