Tasting notes
Hourglass's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate—from the four-acre original parcel in northern Saint Helena—is dusty and gently herbal, with darker fruit than the 2023 and more black cherries than red. It's full-bodied, rich, earthy and savory, despite having plenty of ripe fruit. Supple and smooth, with a creamy texture and plush finish, it's an early-drinking charmer that still offers considerable depth.

From a site on the northern end of St. Helena, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Hourglass Estate is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in new barrels. Currants, spicy wood, chocolate, flowery incense, and tobacco shine here, and it offers a classic 2022 open-knit, expressive, ethereal, ripe style on the palate.
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is laced with super-ripe red cherry fruit, kirsch, white pepper, mint and crushed rocks. The intensely ripe, candied profile of the year is evident, as is its mid-weight structure. Blood orange and cinnamon add an exotic flair on the close.
