Tasting notes
The terrific 2021 Cabernet Franc Force Tranquille contains 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and comes entirely from the family's estate vineyard in Oakville. It's gently leafy and dark fruited on the nose, with crushed stone accenting black cherries and a bit of dusty earth. Full-bodied and concentrated, it's smoothly textured in the mouth, with a hint of milk chocolate on the long, vibrant finish.

There are two Cabernet Franc releases, both absolutely brilliant. The 2021 Cabernet Franc Force Tranquille has darker black fruits, olive, iron, and some meaty notes that turn more floral and perfumed with air. It's full-bodied and has perfect tannins and a seamlessness that's something to behold. It will probably merit a triple digit rating in 7-8 years.
The 2021 Cabernet Franc Force Tranquille is silky, delicate and exquisite. Time in the glass releases its textural resonance. Dark red/purplish fruit, blood orange, cinnamon and spice linger gradually open with aeration. The 2021 is powerful and rich but also light on its feet for such a big wine.
