Tasting notes
(just two barrels made, from 50-year-old vines in Mazoyères-Chambertin): Dark red with ruby tones. Deep, soil-driven aromas of dark raspberry, minerals and violet, plus a sexy gamey nuance. Wonderfully fine-grained and concentrated, conveying strong smoky soil tones and an impression of sweetness. This strong, serious vin de terroir finishes gripping and long, with harmonious ripe tannins.
