Tasting notes
Aromas of orange oil, crisp orchard fruit and stone-fruit pits mingle with hints of beeswax and white flowers, introducing Roulot's 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes, a medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated wine that's elegantly muscular and textural, with racy acids and chalky structuring dry extract.

The 2020 Meursault Charmes 1er Cru emerges from a 70-year-old parcel in Charmes Dessous that measures ¼ hectare. Apricot, dried flowers, candied ginger and light tropical accents all meld together effortlessly through to the long, beautifully articulated finish. A wine of impeccable class and pedigree, the 2020 is beautifully balanced from start to finish. It’s a total knock-out in 2020. (Tasted by Antonio Galloni)
Slightly riper but still wonderfully fresh and cool aromas are comprised by notes of white peach, anise, tea and a wide range of floral elements. The less powerful but more refined middle weight flavors possess a simply gorgeous mouthfeel, indeed it's quite seductive, that is highly sophisticated on the focused, clean and bone-dry finale that goes on and one. This is exceptionally stylish, and the balance is such that it should easily repay a decade plus of keeping. This beauty is a stunner of a Charmes.
