While many white Burgundies from this vintage are developing in a more exotic direction than many commentators anticipated, the 2010 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières from Coche-Dury remains chiseled and tightly wound, offering up notions of lemon oil, freshly baked bread, sesame and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, incisive and electric, it's a brilliant wine that's far from its prime.

Pale lemon-yellow. Nose dominated by crushed rock. Like a liqueur of sappy citrus fruits and minerals in the mouth, with electric energy that's almost painful today. Dense, thick, sweet and fine-grained, with a hint of toast adding another element toward the back. Explosive finishing minerality leaves the palate vibrating on the endless aftertaste. Incredible juice, and likely to be very long-lived.
