Full bottle 1,350 g. Pale greenish straw. Relatively tight but without aggressively struck-match aroma, though the lightish aroma is beguilingly blossomy. And quite a lot of obvious ripe fruit underneath with a hint of liquorice. Leaner than the Danbury Ridge, Octagon Block Chardonnay 2022 from Essex served alongside. Neat and well behaved. (JR)

The 2018 Bourgogne Blanc is drinking beautifully, offering up aromas of pear, blanched almond, white flowers and hazelnut, followed by a medium-bodied, satiny and precise palate that's impressively vibrant and concentrated in this sometimes flabby and open-knit vintage.
