Lightish ruby. Sumptuously melded nose. Very firm, brisk palate entry, rather focussed, energetic wine – quite different from the Echézeaux’s more blurred impression. Lots of firm fruit here almost masks the considerable tannic charge. Particularly long finish with autumnal notes. (JR)

Medium red. Blacker fruits on the nose, lifted by violet and mineral nuances. A step beyond the Echezeaux in sweetness, texture and power. Fuller and more complex, with sappy dark berries complicated by leather and minerals. Finishes with round, sweet tannins and excellent length.
