The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Village has an attractive wild berry nose, playful and pure, developing light sous-bois scents with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, quite firm tannins with a rather blunt finish. The nose was so good, but it lets down by its severe finish.

Cask sample. Deepish crimson. Dark-fruited and ripe. Less fresh on the nose compared with the Chambolle Derière La Grange. Dried-fruits aroma. On the palate, lacks freshness and any sort of lift. Tannins are very dry too. I think this is likely to be a poor sample. (JH)
