Score 94/100 · Drink 1994-2010, Robert Parker, Aug 1994

Last Tasted 6/94 The opaque, plum/purple color suggests considerable concentration. The lavishly rich, intense nose of fruitcake, chocolate, cedar, herbs hickory smoke, soy, and cassis is fabulous. Full-bodied, rich, expansive, and amazingly supple, this silky-textured wine has exceptional finesse and succulence. It is made in the classic Cask 23 style - thrilling, velvety-textured, and complex. It should drink well for 10-15+ years.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars

Warren Winiarski founded Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars in 1970 when he purchased the Stag’s Leap Vineyard in Napa’s Stags Leap District. The 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon – only the second vintage – won the famous 1976 Judgement of Paris blind tasting, rocketing the estate to fame.
