Tasting notes
Medium slightly hazy yellow. More minerally and precise on the nose than the Napa chardonnay, with lively aromas of lemon cream and flowers. Then dense and juicy in the mouth, with a light touch owing to white peach and mineral flavors. Less plush than the Napa Valley version but finer and longer.

The 2010 Chardonnay is a big, rich wine layered with tangerine, apricots, flowers and honeysuckle. The 2010 spent 11 months in French oak barrels (90% new) with lees stirring once a week, both of which add to the volume and density of the fruit. Hints of sweet French oak wrap around the delineated, generous finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. These are two very pretty wines from Pahlmeyer and winemaker Erin Green. Tel. (707) 255-2321
