Dark red. Reticent nose hints at wild dark berries, minerals, coffee and mocha. Tighter and less sweet than the last couple of samples, dominated today by a stony minerality that gives precision and cut to the middle palate. But this very dense, sappy and suave wine is quite youthfully imploded today and is likely to require at least seven or eight years of cellaring. Finishes very long, with late-arriving dusty tannins. Clearly superb but tricky to taste today.
