Tasting notes
The 2013 Chardonnay Ellen Lane Estate has a light straw color, a spectacular nose of honeyed peaches, caramelized citrus, and a steely, almost gravelly, Chablis-like quality to it. This wine comes from a very rocky site in the Green Valley, and its cold micro-climate has rendered a spectacular 2013 to drink over the next decade or more.

The 2013 Chardonnay Ellen Lane Estate stands out in this range for its extra kick of brightness and energy. Those qualities serve to balance some of the wine's natural overtness nicely. Candied lemon peel, white flowers and sweet mint notes grace the delineated, expressive finish. The Ellen Lane Estate is marked by its distinct dried fruit character and expressive savory herbs undertones.
The 2013 Chardonnay Ellen Lane Estate possesses gorgeous nuance in a style that brings together focus and volume. The Ellen Land is a bit more restrained than many of the other Chardonnays in this range. Today, it is the wine's energy that stands out above all else.
