With a fruit-driven personality, the generic 1996 Barolo is also outstanding. Sexy and forward, it is a wonderful introduction to the Scavino style. It should age nicely for 10-12 years. Good deep red. Full, rich aromas of red cherry, dried flowers, camphor and marzipan. Fat and rich, but with very firm underlying structure. Already offers lovely inner-mouth perfume. Finishes quite long, with firm but ripe tannins.
