Score 91-93/100 · Drink 2031, Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jan 2021
(from younger vines Musigny of less than 25 years of age, the youngest of which were planted in 2007). This is aromatically similar to the villages in terms of the fruit but with more apparent spice and floral influences. The sleeker, more intense and bigger-bodied weight flavors exhibit more evident minerality on the focused and gorgeously textured finish where a touch of bitter cherry pit character slowly emerges. This markedly firmer effort is also a really lovely wine that possesses a similar degree of finesse but with plenty of punch to go with it. (91-93)/2031+
