Medium red. Very ripe red fruit, chocolate and menthol aromas lifted by flowers and minerals. Supple, fruit-driven and sweet, with a smooth texture given shape by harmonious acidity. As attractive as this village wine already is, it's still tightly coiled and capable of gaining in complexity with time in bottle. Finishes ripely tannic and long.
The estate's 2009 Vosne-Romanée is a flagship wine, as production is around 17,000 bottles, an enormity by Burgundian standards. The Vosne is made from a blend of parcels that are vinified in three cuves and then assembled into the final blend. Delicate, spiced notes lead to a harmonious core of fruit in this supple, harmonious wine.
