This has depth and interest, still has lift and character, pale gold, pear and white peach pit, juicy, savoury, sage and dill. Great value, one to look out for.

Tasted at the André Lurton tasting in London. The 2010 La Louviere Blanc has quite a rich brioche and crème caramel-scented bouquet that seems quite mature for its age. The palate is mature and rather flabby compared to the 2011 and 2012, whereas another bottle under screwcap was far fresher, with apple blossom and kiwi fruit on the nose. The palate here was fresher and more saline and had far more to offer than its counterpart under cork. Go for the screwcap version if you have the choice! Tasted June 2017.

About the producer
Wine has been made at this estate since the 1300s, but its modern history begins when the Lurton family purchased it in 1965. The property was in disrepair, but the Lurtons have restored the château, winery and vineyards.
