The aromas of dried cherries and dried herbs are right where this mature Brunello should be, as are the dried red and purple flowers and cedar notes. The palate has a long, succulent and juicy feel with sturdy, clearly articulated tannins and a core of earthy, dried-cherry flavor. Drink over the next six to eight years.

Deep ruby with bright orange rim. Sweet undergrowth, kirsch, malt and hints of prune. Fantastic acidity cutting through the sweet fruit. Perhaps a little oxidative (but it may be the bottle). There are hints of dried fruit, but the compact powerful tannins and the acidity build a solid whole. Quite a lot of tannin! (WS)
Good deep red. Deep, vinous nose combines redcurrant, menthol, graphite, flowers and medicinal herbs. Big, round, rich and savory, showing more soil-inflected saline and mineral flavors than primary fruit. This focused, taut wine is not made in a sweet style but is quite elegant, finishing classically dry, with a broad dusting of tannins and a distinctive stony element. Give this some time in the cellar.
Very bright ruby. Lively, nervy, very ripe mulchy fruit – real excitement here. Slightly burnt notes on the finish and a rather faster fade than the nose suggested initially. (JR)
