Tasting notes
Mid ruby with the first signs of orange. Beguiling oak and fruit nose and only a hint of tar. Perhaps a little too oaky for my taste, but undeniably skilled. Seductive, concentrated oak and sweet fruit finish with powerful tannins. (WS)

Dark ruby with some rust at the rim. A little closer to fresh leaves than leaf mould on the nose. Quite vibrant fruit. Very sweet flattering start – almost porty! Quite a nice drink but very distinctive. Sweet and plump. Not unlike the Fratello Alessandria Barolo Gramolere in structure. (JR)
Classy nose of crushed berries, spices, red chillies, and rose petals. Full body, with round and chewy tannins and a milk chocolate, light vanilla and berry aftertaste. Needs time to come together. Stylish.
The 2008 Barolo Sorì Ginestra is the most complete of these 2008s. An exotic mélange of plums, black cherries, menthol, spices and licorice takes shape in the glass. The 2008 Ginestra impresses for its textural depth, richness and aromatic nuance. Layers of fruit build towards the sweeping finish in this multi-dimensional, textured Barolo. Ginestra is one of the great sites in Barolo. The 2008 captures all of the magic. This is the most refined, polished young Sori Ginestra I have ever tasted.
