Score 16/20 · Drink 2018-2023, Jancis Robinson MW, Jul 2017

82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot 4% Cabernet Franc 4% Malbec 2% Merlot. Brooding aromatics and palate with dusty black cherry and black plum touched by gunmetal are a bit subdued on the nose upon opening but open to reveal more with air. The palate carries impressive density and concentration well housed by fine tannins and mouth-watering acidity. This is great value. It’s hard to find Cabernet from California with this much to offer even above this price. It’s dense, brooding, and full delivery while avoiding heaviness, or excess. Perfect delivery of a commercial wine that will serve a meal and be crowd friendly. My mom would like this wine too. Smart option. VGV (ECB)
