Cécile Tremblay's 2010 Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes is beginning to drink very well, wafting from the glass with an attractive nose of red-black fruit, spice, orange rind and a delicate framing of creamy new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium-full and deep at the core, with racy acids and a chassis of fine-grained tannins.

The 2010 Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes opens with a gorgeous, exotic bouquet laced with spices, dark fruit, minerals and licorice. There is plenty of Vosne character in this sophisticated, understated Burgundy. The wine's balance and overall sense of harmony are striking. The Vosne Vieilles Vignes is usually the last wine to be bottled here.
Good bright red-ruby. Good lift to the aroma of black fruits and violet. Dense, juicy and savory, with a distinctly dark cast to the nicely concentrated flavors of black fruits and violet. Solidly structured, chewy wine with a long, saline aftertaste. Tremblay noted that Vosne-Romanee had considerably less rain in early September than did Chambolle.
Three different parcels. Very luscious but some liveliness too. Masses of really rather obvious fruit. Impossible to object to this much pleasure even if it is sweeter and more concentrated than most people’s. Tartish on the finish. Lots of energy and set for quite a long life. (JR)
