Tasting notes
Restrained but sexy aromas of lemon drop and toasty oak (40% new). Very suave, sharply delineated flavors of grapefruit, pineapple and lemon drop. Rather closed in on itself today on entry, but expands and spreads out impressively on the back half, offering terrific palate coverage. Finishes very long and sappy, with a dusty, tactile quality and a lingering flavor of lemon drop.

Intense resin-laced minerals and bacon fat can be discerned in the boisterous aromatics of the 2002 Meursault La Seve du Clos. Armed with balance, power, density, and length, this lively, ethereal wine is medium to full-bodied and velvety-textured. Its core of fruit displays a concentrated nugget of sappy minerals, earth, and hazelnut flavors that linger throughout its superb length. Anticipated maturity: now-2012.
