Tasting notes
The seductive, lush, concentrated 2000 Cote Rotie Champin Le Seigneur offers up copious quantities of sweet black raspberry and cherry fruit intermixed with caramel, vanilla, and a hint of honeysuckle. This is a medium-bodied, silky-textured, luscious, modern-styled Cote Rotie to enjoy over the next 5-7 years. The president of the syndicate of Cote Rotie growers, the young, dynamic, and talented Jean-Michel Gerin continues to build a strong following for his progressive, modern-styled, barrique-aged Cote Roties. Gerin’s 2000 Cote Roties are extremely successful (he eliminated 60% of the crop through severe pruning and grape cutting in the vineyard). Like all his wines, they were bottled unfined and unfiltered. Importers: New Castle Imports, Myrtle Beach, SC; tel. (843) 448-9463 and Langdon-Shiverick, Cleveland, OH; tel. (216) 861-6800
