Score 88/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous

( bottled two weeks prior to my visit, along with the grand crus) Smoky aromas of apple and petrol; a bit less pure than the 2001. Fruit-driven and broad, with notes of white peach and spring flowers. Just misses on intensity. Shows a youthfully dry edge from the recent bottling but displays good length.
