(bottled in March of '09) Good medium red. More exuberant, succulent aromas of berry liqueur, dried flowers, stone and underbrush; following the Echezeaux, said estate manager Frederic Engerer, "this one is smiling." Then wonderfully suave and mouthfilling, with a deep, sexy richness to the black raspberry, roast coffee and floral flavors. This will no doubt last at least as long as the Echezeaux but it will give much more pleasure early. I got the impression Engerer wishes this had been vinified with some whole clusters, and in fact he adopted this approach in 2008.

Good deep ruby-red. The aromas of bitter cherry, minerals and flowers convey an impression of energy. Then quite suave and seductive in the mouth, with noteworthy energy to the black raspberry, dark chocolate and floral flavors. A deep, sweet wine that finishes broad and tactile, with ripe, granular tannins and lovely lingering sap.

Again very dark, blackish purple. Bit of oak and plush ripe fruit. Lots of black fruit. Sweet almost soft. Definite floral note. Firm structure very underneath and (just) sufficient acidity, but quite obvious oak tannins. Light finish, fades a bit. (JR)
