2007 Domaine Perrot-Minot Domaine Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru

Saturated, deep ruby-red color. Brooding aromas of cassis, licorice, violet, menthol and chocolate mint. The palate offers an almost painful intensity, with a pronounced saline quality to the crushed dark berry fruit. Wonderfully concentrated, primary wine with an almost medicinal character to its palate-saturating finish. It's hard to spit this-or to scrape it off one's palate, for that matter.
