Tasting notes
Bing cherry, pomegranate, smoke, and violet notes all define the 2018 Pinot Noir Signal Ridge Vineyard, another juicy, medium-bodied, elegant wine that plays nicely in the style of the estate. It's slightly more mid-weight texturally, yet I like the overall balance as well as structure. Give it a few years and it should keep through 2030. Jamie Kutch continues to make a savory, almost Old World style of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In general, these are structured, tannic wines, and short-term cellaring is advised.

The 2018 Pinot Noir Signal Ridge Vineyard is bold and powerful in feel. Black cherry, licorice, game, cloves, leather and earthy notes convey an impression of virile intensity. Deep and rich, with a real depth in its fruit, the Signal Ridge is another impressive wine in this range, but it is going to need time to unwind.
