From a 0.5-hectare walled vineyard, this village Meursault offers succulent peachy fruit and honeysuckle tones, leading onto a palate with super saline, mineral intensity. It’s flinty, chalky and taut, full of seaspray and oyster shell, yet also rich, weighty and pleasingly fat, yet with no shortage of freshness.

Bursting with aromas of pear, sweet citrus fruit, toasted nuts and spices, the 2022 Meursault Clos des Ecoles is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, with lively acids and a complex, gently oak-inflected finish.
In bottle. Pale in colour with an attractive nose, the perfume of fruit which is correctly ripe. Fresh behind, still good acidity. Clean, pretty and will fill out from here. Very persistent.

Founded in 1962 by Alain Hudelot and based in Chambolle-Musigny, Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat is today run by Alain’s grandson Charles van Canneyt and has become one of the region’s most respected estates.
