The 2009 Rabaud-Promis is quite deep in colour, though not alarmingly so. The nose feels rather subdued compared to its peers with scents of mandarin and quince, though it needs more precision. The palate is fresh and viscous on the entry. Clementine, honey, brown sugar and light quince notes lead to a precise and persistent finish. This Sauternes comes highly recommended. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting.

The 2009 Rabaud-Promis has a pale to medium gold color and nutty nose with straw, dried apples and tea notes. The palate is mature, very sweet and rich with nice freshness and a savory finish.

Tasted blind. Deep orangey gold. Slightly burnt note and a bit too sweet. But sincere. (JR)
